Illinois Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center (IPERLC)
From 2000 to 2015, MCPHP housed the Illinois Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center (IPERLC), previously known as the Illinois Public Health Preparedness Center (IPHPC), one of 14 Preparedness and Emergency Learning Centers across the nation through a grant by the US DHHS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The IPERLC focused on developing competency-based training activities for the public health workforce in the state of Illinois.
Institute for Faith and Public Health Leadership (IFPHL)
From 2012 to 2014, MCPHP partnered with the Center for Faith and Community Health Transformation, Advocate Healthcare, and Office for Community Engagement and Neighborhood Health Partnerships to implement the Institute for Faith and Public Health Leadership.
Through this institute, teams of faith and public health leaders from IL, IN, and MI learned how to identify and utilize the unique assets that both disciplines use to eliminate the root causes of health inequities.
MidAmerica Regional Public Health Leadership Institute (MARPHLI)
The MidAmerica Regional Public Health Leadership Institute (MARPHLI) was a year-long fellowship program that provided public health practitioners with critical leadership skills and supported improvements in public health infrastructure through the process of applied action learning and team technical assistance projects.
Since its inception in 1993 to 2015, MARPHLI has graduated over 1,000 fellows. It was the oldest state-based public health leadership program in the United States.
Rural Public Health Institute
From 2005 to 2014, The Rural Public Health Institute provided half and full day training workshops on current, timely topics in the area of rural public health. The Institute was designed to provide an opportunity for professional growth, educational enrichment, and networking to professionals who worked in the fields of: rural public health, health care, surveillance, epidemiology, preparedness, EMSC, mental health, chronic disease, agriculture, and education.
