Strengthening Illinois’ Public Health System & Workforce

With funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) via the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Infrastructure Grant, Dr. Christina Welter leads the P3RC in a five-year project to strengthen the state’s public health system and workforce. The P3RC, with a commitment to building collective leadership to advance policies and practices that improve population health and equity, is working with IDPH and statewide, regional, and local public health partners to deepen the collective understanding of public health infrastructure needs. As immediate and long-term needs are uncovered, P3RC leaders and staff will work with the public health system’s biggest asset – its workforce – to develop a shared vision for the future of public health throughout Illinois.
